由於水上木偶下午三點半才開演。早餐過後，我們逕自前往市中心歷史悠久的還劍湖，河內有許多重要的建築皆是依著此湖而建，這一帶有河內大學、郵政總局、歷史博物館、歌劇院等法式殖民建築，另一側則有美術館、軍事博物館、胡志明陵寢、文廟、一柱塔等。沿著環湖寬闊的綠帶享受著天然市肺的悠閒，同行的萊恩建議過街前往赫赫有名的三十六古街尋寶去，附帶提一聲，在這裡穿越沒紅綠燈的馬路，可是遠比玩電動過關遊戲還刺激百倍。

走出三十六古街的盡頭，驀然發現位在與新市區相交處的一棟黃白塔樓，招牌上寫著斗大的“昇龍水上木偶戲院”，原來，我這麼多年來的好奇和解答就住在這裡面，儘管中午我們一行人特地趕去一家本地最頂級的餐廳去朝聖，仍然食之無味；就算在等待開場前端坐在一間法式殖民風的越南咖啡館，也是優雅不起來，因為，此時我毛躁的耐性就如同室外的氣溫般蒸騰著。
