United and Continental Agree to Merge

United's parent company, UAL Corporation, and Continental agreed on Sunday to merge in a stock swap valued at $US3.7 billion ($4 billion), sources said.

The Transportation Department approved the Continental-United alliance in July, with limits sought by the Justice Department.
