Dubai Creek



This saltwater creek, a lifeline and pulse of the city, divides Dubai into two parts which separates the city from Deira to the north and Bur Dubai to the south 


The, 14 Kilometers long, Dubai Creek has played a major role in the economic development achieved by Dubai. Since the early days, when Dubai was a center for pearl fishing and pearl trade with countries in the Gulf states, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Somalia and even India. Dubai’s trade development was attributed to the creek. 

Only wooden ships are allowed to enter the creek to keep its traditional feature.
