Departure Tax Rise Hits Air Prices

The cost of UK air tickets will rise from Sunday (11/1/2009) when the first of two increases in Air Passenger Duty (APD) airport departure tax takes effect.
The hike, which will particularly hit long-haul passengers travelling in business and first-class cabins, and next November (11/1/2010) will rise again, has been condemned by British Airways and the UK travel organization Abta.
