The scenic lake lies in the background of putting green covering around 5 square kilometers and running 10 meters deep of freshwater. The water level is actually lower than sea level 3 kilometers away. The whole Fort Ilocandia Golf ＆ Country Club area of 479 hectares consists of the main club and rooms overlooking the legendary Paoay Lake, swimming pools, tennis courts and an 18-hole golf course, which was declared Paoay Lake National Park in June 1969.
