Insalata Caprese Twist on a Shoestring
Cellphone picture
Caprese salad (Italian: Insalata Caprese, meaning "Salad of Capri")
Here you see my style consists of sweet potato leaves (from the leftovers; hand-shredded), steak tomato (not hand-shredded, of course. Ha…), Chilean Crimson grapes (seedless), garlic and fresh (local equivalent) basil leaves. Can you smell the aromas yet? Believe me, it even tasted so delectable without being doused the dressing on. Please ignore the presentation, I was home unusually late and actually starving.
By the way, all of the produce ingredients I had gathered from a supermarket’s clearance sale this very late afternoon.
The Vinaigrette dressing (my way) was made of hazelnut oil and apple cider vinegar.
Revamp: Caprese Salad Twist; heavenly boost with sumptuous diced mozzarella and rolled oat (bit of whole milk for moister taste, if you would).
