Gamcheon Culture Village

One of the collaboration projects I worked with South Korea government — KNTO, now called KTO — in the mid 1990's


A vibrant, kaleidoscopically colored village 






Previously one of the city's slum areas, Gamcheon-dong (부산 감천문화마을) is a subdivision of Saha-gu district in central-west Busan, South Korea. The area is known for its steep streets, twisting alleys, and brightly painted houses, which have been funded by government to restore and enhance with the "Dreaming of Machu Picchu in Busan project" in mind in 2009 to attract tourism. Some painted street murals and craft boutiques have also sprung up in the area.
