Shoppers at the Taipei MRT East Mall (Chung Hsiao-Fuxing Station) have a chance until June 18 to win an all-inclusive beach holiday to Boracay as part of the ongoing month-long raffle promo for the WoW Philippines summer travel campaign.

Shoppers who purchase items at the MRT East Mall for a minimum amount of NT$ 1,000 will be entitled to a raffle stub that may win them a free trip to Boracay, the Philippines most exciting beach destination. Ten winners will be drawn for the Boracay package sponsored by the Wonderful Tours & Travel Corp. and Phil-Am Tour.

The U.P. Singing Ambassadors (UPSA) is coming to Taipei for a series of world-class musical performances on   June 8-13, 2007. The University of the Philippines (U.P.) -based choir was tapped by the Manila Economic and Cultural Office and the Philippine Department of Tourism to perform as part of the Philippine Independence Day celebration in Taiwan, and other consumer events to promote travel to the Philippines for summer.

The UPSA is the first and only Asian choir to win the Grand Prize (2001) in the AREZZO Competitions held in Italy – considered as the toughest of the world’s top six (6) European Choral Competitions. The choir has also won other top prizes in  several choral competitions in Europe and performed internationally in some of the most prestigious music halls making the UPSA as one of the best university choirs in the world.

The UPSA choir’s upcoming concerts will feature a wide range of genre from classical to modern with interpretative dances and live musical accompaniment. The choir is scheduled to perform for the public at the following venues:

「享譽國際的菲律賓合唱大使來台，週末將於捷運東區地下街公演」

來自於菲律賓的合唱大使團UPSA享譽國際，將於這週末6/9、6/10 下午2點起於捷運東區地下街第2廣場免費公演各4場。

菲律賓觀光部目前正與捷運東區地下街合作「繽紛購物萬花筒」活動(5/18至6/18止)，只要購物滿1000元就有機會抽中菲律賓最熱門也是亞洲最美的白沙灘---長灘島自由行共10名，為了配合此活動同時慶祝6/12菲律賓國慶日，菲律賓駐台辦事處MECO特別邀請這支號稱合唱大使的表演團來台，而且只在這週末公開對外表演。

在捷運東區地下街的表演中，中場還穿插了有獎問答，備有精美的菲律賓紀念品提供給現場的觀眾，在享受音樂的饗宴之餘，民眾還可以趁機了解菲律賓觀光文化資訊以及免費紀念品可拿。


「菲律賓合唱大使團UPSA」簡介

菲律賓的合唱大使團UPSA享譽國際，歌唱實力堅強曾經獲得國際無數大獎，是2001年贏得AREZZO大獎的亞洲唯一團體，而AREZZO是歐洲最高難度合唱比賽之ㄧ。這項殊榮也使得UPSA得到2002年參加歐洲大賽的菲律賓代表權。2002年，獲得ALIW頒發最佳大學合唱團。2004年則是觀眾票選出的最佳美聲合唱團。

菲律賓合唱大使團UPSA善於詮釋各種音樂，從古典樂到流行樂，以及菲律賓各地的文化舞蹈音樂都是UPSA在世界各地表演的曲目來源。

UPSA時常參與菲律賓全國性與國際性的演唱活動，也常常在電視台上表演，曾和菲律賓的知名藝人合作，或是在菲律賓受敬重的望族婚禮上獻唱，或是在菲律賓大企業的公司活動上獻唱…等等，當然也在世界級的演唱廳表演過，例如：Arezzo Petrarca Concert Hall，義大利佛羅倫斯，澳洲雪梨歌劇院…等。

UPSA更是經常為弱勢團體演唱籌募基金，探訪醫院或是孤兒院將他們美妙的歌聲，散播海內外。

UPSA總是在屬一屬二的世界大賽中贏得無數獎項，也參加過許多國家的音樂節，如：義大利、法國、保加利亞、西班牙、瑞士、德國、荷蘭、比利時、斯洛伐克、捷克…等等，成績輝煌，是實至名歸的菲律賓合唱大使。

在UPSA成立25週年之際，更曾經代表菲律賓入圍聯合國教科文組織UNESCO在法國巴黎舉辦的國際音樂大獎。
