One-Pan Beef October 31

Sorry for the shaky cellphone pictures

Eurasian meals for an Eurasian expatriate

What's dinner tonight?

Debating what groceries to pick up in a local, I mean a location outside of United States, super market frowning is my daily routine abroad.

Compromise, makeshift and fusion is my best strategy.

Well, let's check out the shopping cart content I have in the last day of October, 2019, evening here: I have got Australian beef, Hatake-shimeji (Japaneseハタケシメジ) Mushroom, asparagus of local produce.

The one-pan or -pot meals is the first natural resorts of living in a cramming dig abroad.

Deploy goodies from my pantry rack is a must. The (Xinjiang-styled) cumin spice, black pepper, dried rosemary also some crashed garlic for marinating the Aussie beef — I marinate all kinds of meat in the cooking except, of course, the USDA Prime and Choice — then drop in the asparagus and Hatake-shimeji while the beef is ready. Finally drizzle with New Zealand sea salt then douse with (Japanese) mirin sauce in place of cooking wine and Sri Lankan cooking coconut oil.

Who is up for my presentation tonight?
